I have used several digital classroom management tools. I have used Class Dojo, Class123, ClassCraft, etc. since 2013, and I have been using Class Dojo as my main tool since this year. In the meantime, I came across a good class management app called 'Ground Card' and would like to introduce it to you.
Ground Card is a service developed by Mr. Lee Sang-seon, an elementary school teacher in Seoul (currently on leave), and its function to identify students' emotions is particularly notable.
As you can see above, students can write their daily emotions with 'emoticons', 'conditions', and text by writing 'emotion cards', and teachers can also leave comments with premium or pro accounts. Premium and pro accounts are also free, and it is said that they will provide a way to use existing accounts for free even if they upgrade to a paid version.
The main features are as follows:
1.
Write a daily emotion card
2.
Student gardening
3.
Individual quests and class quests (similar to class thermometer)
4.
Compliment cards (there are also effort cards)
Personally, I think it has enough features and stability to warrant switching to a paid version right away, so I'm grateful that it's being offered for free...
Below is an example of how students are using it. It works well on Chromebooks, tablets, and phones, so students will have fun using it, and depending on how teachers use it, it could be useful for class management, communication, and interaction.
Mr. Lee Sang-seon, I know it must have been hard to develop and it must have cost a lot to maintain the data server, but I would like to thank you for providing this service. The children are especially enjoying the gardening activities. ^^
